Well, we left Cleveland this morning ahead of schedule, 7:30am. Leaving Cleveland was fairly easy, no rain just yet. After Ohio, we headed towards Niagara Falls.
| Until I get the better picture off of my mom's camera, this picture will have to suffice. Safe to assume, here we have officially left Ohio and have landed in Pennsylvania. |
| The picture above was the best I could get from lovely Pennsylvania. I'm sure outside of the rain, the state is pretty nice. After all, it's where chocolate was invented. |
| New York!!! (The first time around.) The rain subsided temporarily, long enough for me to get a menacing picture of the state sign. |
| Grape fields. The first part of our trip through New York today was seeing a landscape covered in grape fields. If only we had the time to stop at a winery. |
| Buffalo, New York. Didn't have the time, and wasn't there at lunch time, to eat buffalo wings, but we did drive by it. In case you didn't know, Buffalo is where buffalo wings were first created! |
| The parents in front of Niagara Falls! Aren't they so cute! |
For those of you who have not been to Niagara Falls yet, here is a sneak peak of the action!
| The mist of the falls. Not taken on the Maid of the Mist but rather with a great zoom lens from the top. |
| The fields in New York post Niagara Falls. Going to and leaving from Niagara was pretty easy. A short way out though we ran into some traffic. Got stuck for a while. Luckily though, we had just stopped for some ice cream! |
| We left the interstate at Watertown, New York. Watertown was a really cute small town. After the interstate, we were on two lane highways all the way to Lake Placid. Of course it started raining again sometime after Niagara and stayed raining until we fell asleep for the night. As we got closer to Lake Placid, it started to get real foggy. |
| By the time we got to Lake Placid, it was starting to get really dark out. On the advice of my dad, we found a hotel early on in the day and boy were we grateful to have a place to crash without having to track one down. A view of the lake and a room service call later, we were ready to crash for the night. |
Tomorrow it's Ferry, Ben and Jerry's, and beach. Until then, happy travels!
