cleveland rocks...ohio

The road trip has officially started. This morning, we left good ol' Kentucky and drove North for about 6 hours, eventually landing in Cleveland, Ohio.
The day started off full of rain. We left the house, it was raining.
Dear State of Ohio. I like taking pictures of state signs when I enter a new state. Even if it were not raining at the moment, you still would be unable to see your state sign. It would be appreciated if you would put a welcome sign as soon as one enters your state, or at least one on each major highway into your state. Thank you!
Our first hint of a blue sky. This picture was taken somewhere in Ohio. Minus the major cities, this is what most of Ohio looked like. I caught up on sleep the majority of the way.
Our hotel was located on E. 9th St. (aka Rock & Roll Blvd.). I think that was pretty cool. Our hotel was also right across the street from an old church. When we checked in, they were setting up for a wedding. A little while later, we saw the groomsmen arrive. Never saw the bridal party but a few hours later, there was a wedding party taking pictures by the museum, I'm going to assume it was the same one!
This is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. There is something fundamentally un-rock and roll about this museum, you cannot take pictures on the inside of anything. We spent about 2 hours walking around and left slightly more bummed about the experience than I had hoped. Oh well, I got a pretty cool hoodie there.
Lake Erie. I have now seen two of the great lakes. Unfortunately, this picture is from the balcony of the museum, the closest we got to the lake. At least I've seen it now.

The Cleveland Browns Stadium. I don't care anything about sports but I thought I would through in this picture, why not. One of the most entertaining things of the day was watching Browns fans get all decked out for the game. Drove past one parking lot full of tailgaters, huge orange RV with a huge flat screen TV hanging on the side. Hope they got it put up before it started raining again.
After we left the museum and the stadium, we went driving around and decided to find somewhere to eat. Well we picked the House of Blues. It was sprinkling when we went in to eat, it was pouring by the time we were done. We had to walk a little over a block away to our car. The food was worth the shower though. It was pretty great.

After eating dinner we came back to the hotel, where I believe we all caught up on some much needed sleep. The hotel is pretty nice; the staff have been friendly and the rooms are not horrible. Tomorrow we will be off to Niagara Falls and Lake Placid. It is the longest driving day but the further we get tomorrow, the shorter the next day will be. Hopefully, it will not rain too much.
